Tell us about VisionEra and the work you do.
VisionEra is much more than an eyewear company. We call it “a confidence movement disguised as reading glasses.”
The idea for the brand was born when our founder walked into a supermarket to buy readers and realized the entire section was labeled:
“medicines – adult care – reading glasses.”
The message was clear: If you need reading glasses, you must be ‘getting old’.
He hated that feeling.
So VisionEra was created for what we call the Modern Prime—people over 40 who are active, bold, creative, and nowhere near “slowing down.”
Because the mission is so human and emotional, we naturally evolved into a lifestyle brand.
Today, we offer reading glasses, prescription eyewear, and sunglasses—with more categories coming soon.
Our community is incredibly diverse: artists, engineers, welders, photographers, gardeners—people who rely on their eyes to express their craft. Meeting them has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.
As a pro-age brand, how does this mission show up in your leadership?
At NDB Holding, I would always advise companies to think consumer first.
At VisionEra, we live by that rule.
Every decision starts with one question:
“Will this make someone over 40 feel seen, respected, and amazing?”
Whether we’re approving a marketing email, designing a frame, or exploring new product categories, we constantly ask ourselves:
Does this idea match the lifestyle of the Modern Prime?
Does it inspire confidence?
Is it meaningful or empowering?
My team is full of people with wildly different strengths, which means we debate from all angles. And our founder is deeply connected to the mission, so we always keep our community at the center.
VisionEra has a bold, humorous, and confident brand voice. How do you stay authentic while scaling?
This is one of our biggest challenges right now.
We’re at a point where we need to expand beyond our digital roots and move into new channels—retail, partnerships, and global markets. Growth is important, but not at the cost of authenticity.
Every major opportunity comes with a trade-off.
Something can look financially attractive but damage the soul of the brand.
Once you compromise brand integrity, you rarely get it back.
So we’re very intentional about keeping our tone human, witty, and unapologetically confident.
What was your best “career-defining” moment early on?
When I was a junior consultant years ago, I had barely three weeks on a project. We were preparing for a major meeting with the client’s CFO. Right before the meeting, the partner turned to me and said:
“You’re presenting. This is your work—you own it.”
I didn’t understand how unusual that level of trust was until much later.
But that experience shaped my confidence and my approach to leadership.
Real responsibility builds real capability.
What is the best professional advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I ever got was:
“The worst decision is no decision.”
Analyze the information.
Make the best call you can.
Move.
Even if you make the wrong choice, you can adjust.
But doing nothing creates stagnation—both for teams and companies.
I’ve carried that with me throughout my career.
What do you hope to still be doing 20 years from now?
Honestly?
Still playing tennis.
I play every week, and it’s the one hour where my mind clears completely. Coaching my son’s junior team is equally rewarding—and equally exhausting!
After everything I’ve gone through, staying fit and present for my family matters more than ever. If I’m still on the court in twenty years, that means I’m doing something right.
Would you like to share anything personal with our community?
I’m open about my health journey. Years ago, during my corporate career, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. The support I received from my colleagues was life-changing.
At VisionEra, giving back is part of our DNA.
Every October, we release a limited-edition collection and donate a portion of sales to organizations focused on early detection and research. It’s my way of honoring the support system that helped me through the hardest time of my life.
